Sauna Detoxification:  Most people think that if they haven't used or been exposed to these toxins in a while then it means that they are "clean". Nothing could be further from the truth. Toxins stay in the body's fat cells for years. This is true of all toxins whether from cigarettes, alcohol, drugs such as crack, meth, heroin, pharmaceuticals, or industrial chemicals such as dioxin or radiation.

Your body is always working to rid itself of waste and toxins; that is the importance of elimination trips to the restroom. Additionally, your body's blood stream goes into the fat cells of your body to pull out toxins that have been stored there. When it does, it puts these toxins back into the blood stream to be processed by the liver and excreted by the kidneys. When toxins are put back into the bloodstream, your cellular memory is activated and you begin to crave whatever the particular toxin. This is one of the reasons that, after going through psychological treatment programs, many people relapse. The treatment program may only offer psychological counseling while ignoring important physiological factors. As a result, most treatment programs only offer a marginal chance at recovery. Organic, Living, Whole Foods Served - not sugar and chemical-loaded drugs masquerading as food: When people have problems with drugs or alcohol, in addition to the toxins being stored in the fat cells, they also suffer from a fundamental nutritional dysfunction that predisposed them to being susceptible to drug and alcohol addiction. Most drug and alcohol addicts start out being addicted to sugar and other refined foods, chemicals and preservatives commonly found in the Standard American Diet (SAD).  The first aspects of successful recovery are lost with the feeding of processed sugar and chemicals which may have started at a very young age. The inability to metabolize sugar - or where sugar is feeding yeast overgrowth in the body - causes for the yeast in the body to crave sugar for its metabolism. Go to any meeting of recovering addicts or to an institution trying to treat them and see what kind of food they are serving (coffee & sugar-laden pastries are common). A person may be able to quit using drugs for a short period and replace their addiction with sugar, but eventually the person goes back to the drug because sugar is only one step down from drugs and alcohol. Processed sugar is actually the first entry-way into drugs.  At Hale Ola you are given the tools to learn how to prepare healthy food that doesn’t keep you stuck in your addiction. Most of our food is organic whole foods from local farmers and is obtained at our local farmers markets and health food store.

Classes in Yoga, Meditation and Martial Arts: You begin your new life at Hale Ola not just sitting around listening to people talk or watching TV, but actively engaged in healthy lifestyle-practices. In order for a person to be successful, they must have healthy habits and a healthy lifestyle. During your retreat, you can take an unlimited number of classes that will teach you these healthy habits and give you something to practice for the rest of your life.  We offer fully certified teachers in many disciplines - Yoga, Meditation, as well as the best Martial Arts program (our teacher is the World Champion Escrima Stick Fighter, one of the worlds oldest Martial Arts that comes from the Philippines).

If you are battling drug or alcohol addiction - or any other threat to your health - then you are in a fight to survive and to be successful. Spirituality explained: If you were in a boat with 5 other people and everyone in the boat was rowing in a different direction the boat wouldn't get anywhere. If you have had a problem in doing the right thing in your life if may because you have been separated from yourself. This is not by accident. In fact the society profits off of your separation. Have you ever heard of the term call "Divide and Conquer"? It means that if you are separated from yourself you become easily overtaken and conquered. It is standard practice and protocol for anyone wanting to overtake someone to use this means. A study of all the wars that have been fought throughout history can show you that. That doctrine is not only used however to fight wars but to keep people in a degree of enslavement and subjugation. Any time that any of your actions is against yourself then you are hurting yourself and are exhibiting a form of insanity that is quite common today. (look at smoking cigarettes as one small example). So all of your actions must support you. You are the crown of all that has been created. You are a multimillion dollar machine. When all of your actions support you. All the many parts of you are rowing in the right direction then you get to where you want to go, you become successful and now one can stop you. Our spirituality is based on this principal. You have a problem with the concept of God? Then consider this: If you want to see God then go and look in the mirror. God is not outside of you and you are never separated from it. God is not some religious concept, in which humans have turned into another way to control people, but God is a number and that number is ONE. God is you, and all that exist. And that is what all of the tools we have is meant to bring you back in touch with.
